“By card or cash?”. We hear the question every day. Contactless transactions occupy an increasing share among payments. To facilitate them, ELTRADE provides an optimized solution for retail outlets – ELTRADE SMART PAY, which was among the top products at the international exhibition for hotel, restaurant, catering and spa equipment SIHRE 2022, where we presented our hardware and software products.
In addition to testing different models of self-service machines at our stand this year, visitors had the opportunity to buy a ticket for entrance to the exhibition from the machine placed in the lobby. This option was preferred by people who value their time and those who prefer contactless payments.
Restaurant and store management systems, as well as our latest software product – an integrated solution that combines the functionalities of the SAP Business One ERP system and the commercial software “Detelina” developed by our company in one powerful platform, also attracted the attention of the business.
For those unfamiliar with the history of the cash register, a big attraction was a model of the NCR from the beginning of the last century, which is manually driven. The more inquisitive learned that the first mechanical cash register was invented in 1883 by James Ritchie and John Birch. As a salon owner in Dayton, Ohio, James wanted to prevent his employees from stealing from turnover.
The first cash registers were entirely mechanical, without notes. The employee entered the amount with the keys, and when the handle was turned, the drawer opened and the bell rang, warning the manager about making a sale.
