The first self-service checkout, which COOP Market purchased from Eltrade, already provides customers with the largest store in the chain – the hypermarket in Svetlana district. “Krasna Polyana” in Sofia, the opportunity to mark and pay for the products from their basket with their own hands, saving time.
Opened in 2011, the hypermarket is the chain’s first retail outlet with over 1000 sq. m. m of commercial space. A distinctive feature of the store is the large number of goods under its own brand, which are produced specifically for the COOP chain of the Central Cooperative Union, which includes the hypermarket.
“COOP Market” is a long-standing customer of “Eltrade”. Many of the chain’s sites are equipped with fiscal and scanning devices provided by the company and manage their sales with the commercial software “Detelina”.
The COOP retail chain includes over 800 outlets, of which 102 are owned by COOP Market. All of them rely on the loyalty system developed by Eltrade, based on personal customer cards, which to date are over 78 thousand.
In 2020, the chain expanded its activities with the inclusion of mobile retail outlets for the delivery of essential goods to the population in nine districts of the country. Eltrade provided the stores on wheels with a complete system, which includes hardware devices and sales management software “Detelina”. The initiative is part of the strategy for social engagement of cooperative organizations by providing basic food products to residents of small and hard-to-reach settlements.
The good partnership relationship between Eltrade and CCS is based on the common goal of achieving higher efficiency in sales through the use of modern POS systems for managing retail outlets. When partners unite around a goal, success is not long in coming.
