In connection with the scandal that broke out at the meeting of the budget committee in parliament, after last week the NRA announced to the MPs that by December 31, 2018, it will be necessary to replace all 400 thousand. cash registers in the country, Mediapool asked the manager of “Eltrade” Nikolay Prodanov for comment.
“The new technical requirements require the replacement of not all cash registers, but some of them. The replacement rate will be different for each manufacturer, but for the devices produced by us it is expected to be about 50%,” Nikolay Prodanov, manager of one of the largest manufacturers on the market, Eltrade, with a market share of about 25%, told Mediapool. According to him, the other half of the devices work with software that can be updated according to the new technical requirements.
Prodanov also refuted other allegations from the meeting of the budget committee in parliament. According to him, the actual working cash registers in the country are no more than 300 thousand, and the number indicated by the NRA – 400 thousand, most likely refers to the registered devices. The manufacturer also pointed out that the normal price of a cash register on the market is not about BGN 300, as the MPs claim, but is about BGN 120-200, as the Bulgarian market is highly competitive. Thus, the total effect for the business in the form of additional costs due to the replacement is about 30 million leva. leva, and not about 120 mln. leva, as the deputies calculated.
